"Burn Any Video Format to DVD Disc"
Although it’s better to have all your movies ripped to your computer, since it’s less likely that you’re going to lose them, it’s good to have them in DVDs as well and watch them in your television from your DVD player. GiliSoft Movie DVD Creator can help you in case you want to create a custom DVD with a movie or video clips containing your own subtitles, video tracks and menus.
The installation procedure consists of only a few easy steps with no settings other than the standard ones (shortcuts, installation directory). The setup package is clean from all types of malware (spyware, viruses, etc.) and doesn't include any additional software other than the main program.
Supported operating systems are Windows 2000, XP, 2003/2008 server, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 (32/64-bit supported).
At the top of the main window is a toolbar with several buttons: Add Files, Cut, Crop, Effect, Watermark, Subtitle and Rotation. Below the toolbar is the list of media files that are going to form that DVD, along with general technical information for each one. From there you can also select what kind of menu you want in your DVD (no menu, static menu or dynamic menu), choose a background image for it or open the DVD menu settings. Next to that area is the preview screen. From the bottom part of the window you can select DVD Disc Type, Volume Label, Output Type, Write Speed, Copies and whether the computer should shut down when done. To begin the conversion process click on the big “Start” button at the bottom right corner.
You can import media files of many file types: AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DAT, MOV and others. HD formats are supported too: MTS, M2TS (AVCHD H.264), TS (MPEG-2), HD MKV (H.264, MPEG-2 HD), HD WMV (VC-1) and HD MOV (H.264, MPEG-4).
The output result can be either saved as an ISO file or exported as a folder with DVD Disc structure. You can also pick the type of the DVD disc you’re going to burn your movie on (DVD-5, DVD-9 or Compressed DVD). Other burn settings include volume label, burn speed and number copies.
The video settings that can be configured are Bit rate, TV Standard (NTSC or PAL) AND Aspect ratio (16:9 and 4:3).
The DVD menu can be greatly customized, since you can choose between static and dynamic menu, select title, background image, background music, chapters per page and enable or disable next chapter autoplay.
Before creating the DVD you can edit the files by cutting and cropping them, adding effects, watermark, subtitles and rotating them.
Would be nice if the program was improved to support burning to blu-ray discs.
A very professional and popular software for creating movie DVDs is ConvertXtoDVD (paid). It gives you full control over the movie’s look and contents, having a few more features than GiliSoft’s Movie DVD Creator. Two other similar software are Aimersoft DVD Creator (paid) and DVD Flick (free).
Stable DVD Creator software with many features and no bugs, guaranteed to work like it should.
