"Add watermark to multiple photos!"

Overview

The most efficient and popular way to protect your images from unauthorized use and distribution is to add watermarks. This way viewers can still view the images but won’t be able to use them. One program that can help you with this task is BatchMarker; it has all the necessary features to add and customize watermarks/logos in many ways, such as by adjusting transparency and shadows.

Installation

You don’t have to be an expert to install BatchMarker since its setup procedure is extremely quick and easy. Just follow a series of few simple steps and after a few moments the installation will finish.

No additional 3rd party items are included in the setup package (like toolbars, spyware, Trojans, etc.).

Supported operating systems are Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and 8.

Interface

The main window is divided into four main areas: The left pane, right pane, content screen and thumbnail bar. The left pane is where you add and customize your watermarks/logos. From top to bottom, you can add copyright text and signs, add watermark text, add logo/image, add date/time and add lines (each of those functions has different settings). In the right pane you can save your watermark customization settings in order to use them in the future again, define output folder for edited images and select a file type for the new images. The thumbnail bar displays all added images and the content screen shows a preview of the selected image along with the watermark.

Pros

To start working with BatchMarker, add an image (or a set of images) to the program and use the options in the left pane to add a watermark or image on it. You can add copyright signs, text, logo, date/time, as well as striking lines, and configure each one separately using the available settings. The settings you make when creating a watermark can be saved as profiles, so that in the future you can load them easily instead of configuring them again (a few nice preset profiles are available as well).

Supported image file types include BMP, JPG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, PSD, Paintbrush, Kodac, PSP and others. When you have finished editing your photos you can convert your images to any of the following file formats: BMP, JPEG, TIFF, PNG and GIF (for JPEG only you can adjust the image quality).

New images will have the same EXIF information with the original ones (this can be disabled from the options menu).

A useful feature of BatchMarker is its ability to process many images in one go. This means that you can apply the same watermark in multiple images automatically, saving time and effort.

Cons

An error message would pop up sometimes when you erased everything in the “Add Watermark text” text field, saying: “Can’t allocate the DIB handle”.

Alternatives

Batch Photo Watermarker (paid), Mass Watermark (paid) and SizeRox (paid) are three similar alternatives with the ability to add watermarks to your images in batches.

Conclusion

BatchMarker has a nice interface, is easy to use and has many features. If you’re looking for a tool to let you add watermarks to your images, then this one won’t disappoint you.
