Scan2Encrypt is a package that can use either a web cam or a scanner to create photos/scans of documents. These stored images can then be turned into PDF files which can be searched and made secure. The 256-bit encryption technology can ensure that PDF files cannot be accessed by other people once created. OCR technology is able to locate characters and words within a scanned image and turn them into a readable document. PDF files can be uploaded to Dropbox for secure storage or sent by email. Any scanner using a TWAIN interface will work fine. Tesseract is used as the open-source OCR scanning technology. Likely the scanner is going to be more accurate than a web cam shot of a document. Export pages as graphical files TIFF, PNG, JPG or BMP.
