"An easy way to recover lost data in seconds!"

Overview

Having your data deleted accidentally is a common phenomenon that can occur from various reasons, such as a virus disaster or a sudden blackout, and unfortunately if you’re not prepared for it (i.e. you don’t have a backup available) then chances are that you will have a hard time recovering all of the deleted data. However, specialized tools such as Hetman Uneraser can help you out at times like those, and give you a sense of safety and relief by bringing back your lost data easily and effortlessly.

Installation

In order to install the program you have to follow only a small number of easy steps. In fact, you only have to click “Next” only 3 times before the main installation procedure begins, and the only settings that you have to configure throughout the process are the shortcut settings and installation directory. The main installation procedure is very quick.

Hetman Uneraser is completely clean from any kinds of malware (viruses, Trojans, etc.) and doesn’t contain any additional 3rd-party advertised software either.

Supported operating systems are Windows XP, 2003 and 2008 Server, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 (32 and 64-bit systems).

Interface

The program’s interface is quite attractive and clear. It’s organized and all features are easy to find. At the top of the window is the menu bar, and below is a toolbar that has the most basic functions (Wizard, Recovery, Save Disk, Mount Disk, Close Disk). The main screen is divided into two side-panes (left and right), and a central area. From the left pane you can navigate in your disk, whilst the central area displays a list of all found lost items in the current directory. The right pane show a preview of any select item. Below the main screen is a drive manager, which displays technical details of any selected disk in the system.

Pros

Hetman Uneraser has a wide number of features.

For starters, it can retrieve data from any kind of storage media- USB flash disks, memory cards, HDDs, cameras, smartphones- and regardless of file system (FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS). So, it doesn’t really matter where your lost data was located- as long as you can connect it to the computer, you’re good to go.

The implemented wizard gives you the ability to search for deleted files on a disk (such as documents, music files and photos) in a few very simple steps. First, you are asked to select which drive you want to scan for erased data, and then you’ll have to select the scan type that you want to be performed. Here you have 2 options: Normal scan and Content-aware analysis. Normal scan is used for finding deleted files using information available in the file system, and therefore you will be able to recover information about the files such as filename, date and attributes. As for the content-aware analysis, the program will search for deleted files based on signatures, and you won’t be able to recover file information. Anyways, the recommended option here is Normal scan. The next step is for defining the file types that you want to search for, and afterwards you are able to customize some more scan settings (e.g. search by size or date, search in Hidden/System files, etc.). The scan operation will begin right after that step, and the results can either be saved locally, burned to a CD/DVD or uploaded to an FTP server. You also have the ability to create an ISO virtual image with the results too.

All found items can be previewed (if possible) using the internal preview feature, so that you don’t have to recover a file in order to check what it is.

Cons

No bugs were found during our tests- the program successfully found deleted files that were long gone and recovered them easily.

Alternatives

There are plenty of alternatives that have similar functionality, such as: Recuva (paid), TestDisk (free), Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery (paid), TOKIWA DataRecovery (free), Wise Data Recovery (free) and many, many others. TestDisk and Recuva have proven to be very efficient in recovering deleted files.

Conclusion

Hetman Uneraser is exactly what the average user needs in order to retrieve deleted files from any kind of storage. It is easy to use, efficient, and cheap; so, give it a try, and buy it if you’re satisfied!
