"Fast and efficient photo recovery made easy!"
Don't tell me that you've never lost precious photos of your family, friends or other close people, just because you accidentally deleted them or lost them due to a virus attack or disk damage. It has happened to me multiple times, and it's something that cannot be predicted, so what you do afterwards is very important. Fortunately, there are specialized software which can be used to retrieve lost photos in your computer; a good example of such program is Hetman Photo Recovery, which is very user-friendly and has several features in order to give the best results when trying to recover deleted photos.
If you head over to the product's website, you will be able to choose whether you want to download the installer or a portable version of the program (in case you cannot install applications on the current computer, or want to avoid the hustle). If you decide to use the installer, then you don't have to worry about the installation procedure since it is quite straightforward and has only a few number of steps before the main installation process is complete.
There are no malware of any kind (viruses, Trojans, etc.) distributed along with the installation package, and there are no 3rd-party advertised application included in it either.
Supported operating systems are Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 (32 and 64-bit systems supported).
The program's interface is quite modern and user-friendly. Once you open the program, you will be presented with a wizard which will guide you step-by-step into recovering your lost photos. The first screen has an introductory message to the user; the recovery procedure begins in the next screen, in which you are asked to choose a disk that you want to search for deleted photos from.
There aren't any particular options in the main window, which makes it even easier for the user to follow the instructions and not get confused with countless unnecessary features and settings.
Hetman Photo Recovery can recover deleted photos from both FAT32 and NTFS disks. So it doesn't matter whether your photos were located on your main hard drive, and external disk,a camera or a memory card- the program will do its job nonetheless.
For quick results, the program has the ability to perform a fast scan instead of a full scan. This is less efficient than the full scan but is suitable in cases where you want to retrieve a few photos that were accidentally deleted only a few minutes/hours ago. On the other hand, the full analysis will scan thoroughly the disk (and thus will take more time), but is more reliable and can retrieve photos that are more difficult to find.
Before the search begins, you can configure various settings regarding the properties of the photos. For example, you can search by size (small files, big files, medium-sized files, or files of a custom size), or by date (created/modified/accessed last week, last month, last year or a specific date). Additionally, you can choose what file types you want the program to search for. Many image file types are supported, such as .bmp, .jpeg, .gif, .psd, .psp, etc., as well as RAW files.
When the search operation has finished, you will be presented with the results (in thumbnail mode). Then you can choose what to do with them- save to hard disk, burn to CD/DVD, create ISO virtual image or upload to an FTP server.
There are no cons in this program.
Other programs with similar functionality are Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery (paid, Win, Mac), TestDisk & PhotoRec (free, supports video files, archives and documents too), Recuva (freemium), and GetDataBack (paid). The best ones out of those are TestDisk and GetDataBack, since they can recover lost files of any type (not just photos) with very good results.
Hetman Photo Recovery can certainly help you recover photos that were accidentally deleted, and it will not give you a hard time either. If you want to recover other kinds of files apart from photos, you could either take a look at other photos developed by Hetman, or check out the applications we provided in the Alternatives section above.
Requirements: Administrative privileges are needed for starting the program
