Now you can, with Pusher
Pusher began life humbly, nothing more than a series of batch files. Since its first iteration in 2003, it has grown into a mature, robust method of deploying software. The first few versions were strictly for use by the author. Then, others noticed. Finally, he was coaxed into making a version available for the general public.
New in this version of Pusher is a remote inventory utility, which allows you to quickly gather a list of software installed on a remote workstations.
Both of these abilities, inventory and software deployment, are anything new for the SysAdmin community. These processes have been in place for many years. What sets Pusher apart?
In most cases, both of these activities required a client or agent to be installed on each workstation. The problem with client agents is that you could run into compatibility problems, or lack of resources on the client.
Pusher does not utilize client agents to accomplish its task.
Requirements: Minimal
What's new in this version: Updated interface, more configurable options
