In MS Money 2002+ the protection scheme was significantly improved, so universal recovery methods, such as Brute Force Attack and Dictionary Search, must be used. The new improved password recovery engine is optimized for multi core CPUs and allows to achieve the best possible performance. This may take a lot of time and even fail if the password is long and complex. This problem is of global nature - an industry-strength encryption algorithm is used In MS Money versions 2002+. The recovery methods used by Money Password: Instant Password Extraction (prior to Money 2002 only) , Brute Force Attack, Dictionary Attack , Smart Force Attack, Password Variation.
