Data Security Crawler is a useful data protection utility that is critical for organizations storing sensitive data such as credit card, social security and bank account numbers. Data Security Crawler - protecting sensitive data is critical to protecting an organization's reputation, standing in the industry and its very existence in some cases. Before you can secure it you must be able to find it. Clients are often surprised to learn that sensitive data is being stored unsecured in unauthorized locations, including employee work stations and laptops. This creates a huge amount of risk to the data and to the organization that is required to secure the data. Sometimes the data is being stored on desktops and laptops by individuals in order to transfer it to other unauthorized third parties, even criminals. This can be the first indication of fraud. Our tool is the first fully automated product to go out and find files with sensitive data in them. This is a must have tool for security professionals and auditors. When auditors have to certify that sensitive data is not being stored under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI) or other regulatory requirements, often they utilize a manual process or review only to storage areas to which the client points them.
