Warp Pipe Drives the Nintendo GameCube Online With Version 0.3.5
Software creates a new level of interactivity by allowing select Nintendo GameCube games to be played over a standard broadband Internet connection.
Chicago, IL March 10, 2004 -- Warp Pipe Technologies today announced the release of version 0.3.5 of their software which allows select Nintendo GameCube games to be played over the Internet. Currently supported games; Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, 1080°: Avalanche, and Kirby Air Ride contain a built-in Local Area Network (LAN) feature that allow for multiplayer gaming between connected GameCubes running the same game. Warp Pipe software allows gamers to extend this built-in LAN feature, allowing for a heart pounding online gaming experience, by simply operating its software on a PC or Mac that is connected to the same LAN as the Nintendo GameCube.
"In a time where most GameCube implementations of a multi-platform release are void of many features, including online game play, we believe that game developers and publishers will recognize the significant added-value that Local Area Network functionality brings to a gaming community hungry for more interactivity," stated Chad Paulson, Founder of Warp Pipe Technologies. "I think the advent of Warp Pipe Technology combined with Local Area Network functionality is a very attractive prospect for gamers and manufacturers, as publishers no longer have to worry about subsidizing online costs for the life of a video game, by either contracting an online solution to a third party or providing an in-house solution."
