VoEx to deliver its high-quality enhanced voice applications to large enterprise clients utilizing Global Crossing's suite of wholesale voice, data and IP services.

January 15, 2004--Global Crossing announced today that it has been selected as carrier of choice by VoEx, a high-throughput Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) integrator and network services provider specializing in customized applications for large communications-intensive enterprises. According to the agreement, Global Crossing is selling VoEx a series of wholesale voice, data and IP services that will provide a very important component of the revolutionary VoIP service offering developed by VoEx.

“Through our strategic partnership with Global Crossing, we can offer our customers a wider array of outsourced voice services over a robust VoIP backbone that helps us deliver a complete end-to-end standards-based solution.” said Haydar Haba, VoEx’s chief executive officer. “We’re also impressed by Global Crossing’s commitment to supporting our business objectives while delivering a superior customer experience.”

VoEx’s outsourced VoIP integration, network services, and transaction processing provides large enterprises the ability to rapidly migrate towards a fully converged voice/data network without capital expenditure or changes to business processes or systems. By removing the complexities of VoIP interoperability, integration, transport, and billing, VoEx delivers immediate and substantial return-on-investment to its clients, in the most demanding telephony environments: the large enterprise mission-critical voice and data networks. “We believe our partnership with Global Crossing is a key component of creating the highest level of flexibility, reliability and dependability for our customers” said Mr. Haba.

“With more than four years of VoIP deployment expertise, and one of the world’s largest private VoIP platforms, Global Crossing is the solution of choice for companies looking to provide secure, low-latency VoIP services with the highest call quality,” said Ted Higase, Global Crossing’s executive vice-president, carrier sales. “We’re pleased to support VoEx, a preferred VoIP application integration provider, as it brings large enterprises, call centers, universities and last mile network environments its innovative, cost-effective solutions, and look forward to a mutually beneficial, long-term relationship.”

Global Crossing’s VoIP Service, introduced in September 2003, provides wholesale IP interconnection, transport and call completion of packet-based voice traffic over Global Crossing’s integrated IP and TDM platforms. Customers can call around the globe, utilizing Global Crossing’s service network connecting 500 cities in 50 countries on 5 continents. Security is ensured through the use of session border controllers.

Global Crossing’s VoIP platform currently carries over 2 billion minutes of packet-based voice traffic per month, and is expected to carry more than 4.5 billion minutes per month by the end of 2004.
