Visible Interactive Introduces Fanless In-Wall Mountable 15 Industrial Grade Touchscreen Computer for Home and Business Applications.
Visible Interactive Introduces Fanless In-Wall Mountable 15 Industrial Grade Touchscreen Computer for Home and Business Applications.
Scranton, PA May 8, 2004--Visible Interactive today announced the introduction of their latest 15 all in one industrial touchscreen computer. Measuring just 2.75 inches deep, the unit may readily be mounted in walls or enclosures to provide reliable computing power in harsh environments at a price point considerably less than some competitors.
Markets for this unit include areas such as industrial automation and control, retail information and point of sale, kiosks, medical/dental office, home automation, and machine vision, to name a few.
The unit can be made fanless as it uses the latest in technology to dissipate heat from the processor. As a result, it can be readily mounted in between standard wall studs through the use of an accessory backbox, or positioned in other enclosures without the need for normal ventilation. A variety of faceplates may be used to accommodate specific applications or décor requirements. Other mounting options, such as VESA wall mount, arms, and free standing, are also supported.
With a rugged steel front panel and a heavy duty steel plate housing, it is built to work in extreme environments and is NEMA 4, 12, and IP65 rated.
The computer includess a 1 Ghz Via Nehemiah chipset (comparable to a 1.7 Ghz P-4), 256 meg RAM, 20 GB, hard drive, and built in DVD. Connectivity includes 4 USB 2.0 ports, 3 serial, 2 10/100 ethernet, one parallel port, and keyboard and mouse. There is also a PCI/PCMCIA card slot for added expandability.
For additional information on the product, or to arrange to evaluate a unit, please contact John Rasmussen.
Besides our stock products, Visible Interactive offers OEM manufacturing capabilities for touchscreen computers ranging from 12 to 30 inches. For example, at the recent Electronic Home Expo in Orlando, VI demonstrated a prototype of a 30 inch unit incorporating built in HDTV. In addition to being well received there, such a model would be expecially well suited for medical applications and digital signage.
