VicMan Software has released the first version of Photo Toolkit, the photo editing software for casual photographers

27/02/2005, Moscow (Russia) - VicMan Software announced the release of the first official version of Photo Toolkit, a powerful, yet compact and easy-to-learn solution to improve digital images. With only a few clicks, anyone can enhance their photos automatically right from Windows Fax and Picture Viewer or Windows Explorer. This patent-pending technology allows users to correct the most common problems in digital images right from the environment the users are used to without the need to open external photo editing software. Photo Toolkit can also function as a stand-alone software package.

Photo Toolkit contains unique technologies based on self-training algorithms and advanced digital signal processing techniques.

Red Eye Remover is a fully automatic solution for correcting red-eye effects. This solution offers the best success in detection rates available on the market. In automatic detection mode, the detection rate is 90% and the error rate is 4.2%. In semi-automatic detection mode, the detection rate is greater than 99% and the error rate is less than 1%.

VicMan Makeup technology allows even a novice photographer to improve portrait photos in a minute by performing simple and fast corrections of skin imperfections. Several brush tools, each addressing a specific skin defect, approximate neighboring areas to overcome the defects, thus making the skin look natural and smooth.

Photo Toolkit also contains a unique technology for whitening teeth. This is the first solution on the market that allows you to remove dim tooth enamel defects without precise brush strokes. Based on advanced statistical processes, the teeth whitening brush preserves the color of the lips and whitens only the teeth.

The advanced color correction module consists of basic levels, contrast and gamma correction, all fully automatic, and more advanced methods, such as automatic saturation correction and illumination flattening. To achieve the best results, users can choose the desired effect from several images, which are versions of the original picture, each processed by different correction algorithms or their combinations.

With Photo Toolkit, users can also resize photos with minimal loss of quality and sharpness. Users can also crop and fine-tune the image, adding artistic and lighting effects.

VicMan has developed a brand new, patent-pending software shipment method that allows original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to install Photo Toolkit in their digital cameras. Our extremely compact software works directly from the digital camera, allowing your customers to edit their photos everywhere. All your customers need to do is plug their cameras into a computer that uses any Windows operating system and launch our software. No other installation or activation is required.
