Uplinkearth Partners with Comodo to Provide SSL Certificates, such as the Newly Released EV SSL Certificates
JERSEY CITY, N.J., September 26, 2007 - Uplinkearth, an award winning Web hosting and Internet solutions provider for small to medium sized businesses and Comodo, a leading Certification Authority, announced today that the two companies have partnered to deliver business-class SSL Certificates for its small to medium sized business customers.
The certificates, which are available to all Uplinkearth customers at discounted rates, allow Web visitors to verify the authenticity of the sites they visit. The use of SSL Certificates helps prevent the occurrence of phishing, where users are lured into unknowingly providing sensitive information to fraudulent parties.
"In today's security environment on the Web, certificates have become absolutely imperative to thwart the rise of fraudulent transactions," said Michael Yablonowitz, Uplinkearth president and CEO. "We hope our relationship with Comodo will ultimately make it easier and more affordable for our customers to take advantage of the many benefits of SSL certificates."
Uplinkearth customers may purchase Comodo's recently released Extended Validation certificates (EV SSL) at special prices reflecting savings from the $849 retail price. EV SSL certificates provide a $1,000,000 warranty for site owners and introduce visual verification in the Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 address bar.
"EV SSL certificates are an important development in ensuring a safe and secure Internet for consumers," said Melih Abdulhayoglu, CEO and Chief Security Architect of Comodo. "For the first time, site visitors get a visual indicator confirming that the site has been authenticated and this level of reassurance will enable more consumers to be more confident in their online transactions."
All SSL Certificates purchased through Uplinkearth include installation at no additional charge. Certificates may be used with any Uplinkearth hosting plan.
