Lynden, USA, 30 June, 2008 - Softomate LLC announced the launch of Toolbar Studio 4.0 – a full software package to create toolbars. New package provides enhanced functionality with ability to create Desktop Toolbars. Desktop Toolbar is an add-on for Toolbar Studio platform. It is a strip of buttons with custom functionality and links placed right near the system clock in the Windows taskbar. Desktop Toolbar enable users to have quick access to Internet resources, search the web, display the news right on the desktop. Depending on personal needs, Desktop Toolbar may contain just one drop-down menu button with links to websites or be enhanced to the strip of buttons and other different elements like Search box, Banner, Bubble etc.
Desktop Toolbar users could create news, advertisement banners, animations displayed right on the toolbar. This opened the door to unlimited toolbar content. Additional enhancements include the wide range of plug-ins, such as RSS reader, MP3 player, e-mail checker and others.

An ability to change toolbar’s appearance directly from the server brings additional flexibility for this software, since it is possible to manage the Desktop Toolbar content using server-side scripts (such as PHP/ Perl/CGI/ASP) and specify which buttons the toolbar will have and what menu contents to show, based on the current URL opened in the browser, for example.
For users’ convenience, Desktop Toolbars may also perform an automatic check for Upgrades. If a newer version is available from the website, the toolbar will download and install this version.
