Themis Computer Announces Affordable TGA-100 Graphics Accelerator For 24-bit, 2-D Graphics Support in a PMC Form Factor

New, low cost graphics adapter provides Sun XVR-100 compatibility for single and dual display applications in Solaris Platform Environments

FREMONT, CA August 4, 2004 -- Themis Computer announced a low cost TGA-100™ Graphics Adapter. Offered in a PMC form factor, the TGA-100 is based upon the Sun Microsystems XVR-100 graphics technologies and operates with Themis' USPIIIi™ VMEbus computer, USPIIe-Gb™ and USPIIe-USB™ single-board-computers.

Themis' TGA-100 graphics accelerator uses the ATI Radeon 7000 chipset, which accesses 32 MB of local DDR SDRAM frame buffer memory. The TGA-100 graphics board is a single half-length PMC card compliant with PCI version 2.1. The on-board ASIC provides the host bus (33 MHz or 66 MHz) PCI interface for the graphics board and its graphics engine. The board requires only 6 watts of power.

The TGA-100 adaptor provides Solaris™ and Linux® users high screen resolutions, up to 1920 x 1200, and a color palette with up to 16.7 million colors. Themis' new TGA-100 boards are designed for use with analog CRT, flat panel and 3-wire Sync-On-Green analog monitors. A DVI connector provides support for PanelLink compatible displays.

The TGA-100 includes HD-15 and DVI-I video connectors that provide users with both digital and analog video outputs as well the ability to drive two displays at up to 1920x1200 resolution. Because Themis TGA-100 graphics accelerator supports the Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 Operating Environments, user software investments are protected. Providing native Solaris support and Sun XVR-100 compatibility in a PMC form factor, the TGA-100 is an ideal replacement for other PMC graphics boards.
