The first complex solution for Network Management - Axence nVision 3.0 (Press Release)

Now you can effectively manage your network with only one application – Axence Software, Inc. has just released Axence nVision 3.0, whose functionality replaces a set of a few programs. This is the first solution in its category on the market.

Wilmington (Delaware, USA), July 15, 2007 - Axence Software, Inc., a developer of network management solutions, announced today the worldwide availability of the new Axence nVision version. The software has been enriched with several features, which respond not only to the network administrator’s needs, but also to today’s management issues. Until now, you would have had to buy a few different programs to be able to use functionalities such as: the monitoring of networks, servers, applications and routers; the monitoring of user work time, as well as Internet and computer usage; hardware and software inventory, including license usage audit; remote access to a user’s workstation; and finally alerts and reports. From now on all you need is nVision.

Protection against threats
More and more advanced technologies, the Internet, hi-tech equipment and software – these have already become common standards of today’s business environment. Proactive network monitoring, apart from eliminating emergency situations, also facilitates IT infrastructure management and development. nVision monitors all network devices and services: web and mail servers, TCP/IP services, Windows services and system, as well as applications like: MS Exchange, MS SQL, Oracle and many others. The program also monitors SNMP devices (routers and switches), which enables defining a physical topology of the network, generated network traffic and bandwidth usage.

A tool to fight Cyberslacking
The new nVision introduces user monitoring. Personal use of the Internet and PC during work hours (Cyberslacking) has become a real plague. The losses connected with this aspect are constantly growing. It is estimated that almost half of all lost work time is spent on surfing on the Internet, private e-mails and other activities that are not work-related. It is estimated that the US economy loses hundreds of billions of dollars each year due to these activities. Cyberslackers cost Britain’s small businesses almost £1.5 billion annually. Automatic network discovery and visualization; hosts are presented on interactive graphical maps.
nVision monitors: mail and web servers, URL addresses; TCP/IP and Windows services; the health and work of applications (MS SQL, Exchange, etc.); switches and routers (port mapping and network traffic).
nVision automatically collects information about node hardware and software: model, CPU, memory, main board, drives, cards, etc.; installed applications and Windows updates. It enables the auditing and verification of license usage and provides alerts in case of program installation/de-installation or any configuration change, etc.
Optional nVision agents can monitor user activity on Windows computers: user login and activity/inactivity time, application usage and visited web pages. The agent also provides workstation remote control.
Alerts and corrective actions: desktop notification, e-mail, SMS, ICQ, executing a defined program, restart of service or the computer and writing to file.
A wide range of charts and reports: real-time and historical charts; presenting system and applications performance; service and host availability; transfer and network interfaces utilization; network inventory and user monitoring.
