"It makes sense to let our users know status information for U.S. patents before they decide whether to purchase a patent valuation. Anyone that searches our U.S. patent database by patent number now receives patent status information for free. The patent status information identifies whether the patent is unenforceable for failure to pay a patent maintenance fee. We get our patent status information directly from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which updates this information every two or three months. Our data is therefore almost as current as the data available at the USPTO, but without the hassle of trying to get the information directly from the USPTO."
