FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

"Starting and Operating a Business in New York" e-book, August, 2007 Edition Released

Ronin Software announces the release of the 2007 e-book edition of "Starting and Operating a Business in New York," by Harvard Law grad, ex-Big 4 CPA and tax attorney Michael D. Jenkins, Esq. E-book editions (2006 or 2007) for each of the 50 states and D.C. are now available.

Designed for small businesses and their advisers, the "Starting and Operating a Business in ...(your state)" e-book series is a continuation of the former print editions of the same titles, by the same author, that sold over 1.2 million copies in wholesale clubs and bookstores over a 15-year period, but are now sold only in electronic ("e-book") format. Each covers federal and state income, payroll, excise, and other taxes; federal environmental, S.E.C., ERISA and other labor laws; state business registration requirements; state and federal minimum wage, child labor, OSHA, and discrimination laws; state workers’ compensation, wage payment, and fictitious name laws; plus various other state and federal laws and trade regulations that apply to most small businesses. All editions contain up-to-date state filing fee information for corporations, limited partnerships, LLPs, and LLCs, for that particular state. Each also provides current contact information and web links to state and federal agencies, plus a wide range of advice and info on accounting, finances, and other small business-related topics, besides tax and legal matters.

Fully footnoted throughout, the books in this series are an invaluable reference resource for law and accounting firms and other business advisers, as well as for libraries and small businesses .

Software: The unique front-end Small Business Advisor software (included free with all editions) interviews the user, asking a few questions about his or her proposed or existing business. It asks about the number of employees, number of owners, type of legal entity, type of business, gross sales, types of employee plans adopted, foreign ownership, if it is a franchise, etc. The software then instantly assembles the ”smart” e-book -- about 450 to 550 pages long if printed, for any one state edition. Both the main chapters of the book and a detailed, comprehensive Small Business Checklist (Appendix A of the book) will be customized for that user, based on the user’s specific facts, current federal laws and the current business and tax laws of the state selected. (Also, a “generic” e-book can be created for the selected state, which does not contain any user-specific customization, such as planning tips.) The e-books are saved on disk in HTML file format and are viewed with any Windows-based web browser. Printing of the entire book or of individual chapters can be done with one mouse click, using the browser, or a user can easily load the e-book file into a word processor such as Microsoft Word or Corel Word Perfect to do two-sided printing.

A “shareware” (free) version of Small Business Advisor can also be downloaded at the shareware site, www.download3k.com.

System requirements: Windows O/S (Win 95 through XP), a web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, etc.). Also, the (free) Adobe Reader is needed to fill in /print included .PDF files (tax forms). Internet access is not required to use software or view e-books, once installed.

Prices: $29.95 for each downloadable state edition (or $34.95 on CD-ROM). The entire 50-states + D.C. library (Pro Version) is available on CD-ROM for $99, or by annual subscription ($149) with quarterly CD-ROM updates. 12 or 13 state editions are updated each calendar quarter; federal laws and taxes are updated annually and shortly after any major federal tax legislation is enacted.
