Shoreview Consulting Announces On-Site Technical Professional Service in the U.S on Behalf of EMEA and Asia_Pacific ISV's

Shoreview announces technical professional service department outsourcing for EMEA and Asia-Pacific Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) with customers in the United States. Shoreview provides technical support for installations, upgrades, tuning and integration of database-centric applications on Unix, Linux, Windows and legacy platforms.

Boston , MA July 12, 2004 -- Shoreview's outsourced technical professional services program allows European and Asia-Pacific based software vendors with customers in the United States to use our US-based technical staff to execute customer installs, upgrades and tuning or sales support assignments. Our staff is experienced at product installations where the relationship between software product, database, platform and storage solution has to be optimal in order for the application to perform to expectation. Shipping engineering staff to the United States for one or two engagements is not only costly but means the database or platform specific skills on-site are not always available.

With one North American customer with a 10 terabyte database, Shoreview used partitioning within Oracle 9i to reduce access times from minutes into seconds and to allow user loads to increase by a factor of 20. We were also able to provide customized archival and restoration solutions to meet Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA requirements.

ISV's are dependent on customer referrals yet often do not have the depth in professional services to ensure product installations reflect the individual reality of the customer environment, especially when the customer is located on a different continent. Successful installation often requires close on-site collaboration with database administrators, system managers and network engineers as well as local IT support staff. Shoreview provides the IT staff in the US to represent the remote ISV.
