Selkie Rescue is a data recovery and disaster recovery utility for Windows desktop and laptop PCs. There is nothing more important than the data created on a daily basis at home or at work. When the operating system won't boot there's only one priority. Documents, spreadsheets, databases, graphics, photos, music, videos, web pages, text files and everything else has to be rescued so that life and business can continue.
Operating System Requirements
Compatible with all release versions and service packs of Microsoft Windows from Windows 95 through Windows Vista; any Pentium or equivalent CPU (Intel, AMD, Transmeta) capable of running Windows 95 through Vista; 16MB available system RAM; VGA graphics chip and color monitor; CD-R drive and blank recordable CD required to burn the Selkie Rescue CD; any active Ethernet network connected to the PC with the crashed system and trapped data.
PC must be capable of booting from CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive; available storage space on another network connected PC must be accessible (shared, unencrypted); available storage space must be at least equal to the volume of data and files being recovered from the failed or problem PC. Selkie Data Rescue v2 will usually boot any Windows PC through a failed or failing Windows installation as long as the PC hardware still functions and the boot hard drive remains fully operational; Selkie Data Rescue will also operate even if an installed video card is failing
Selkie Data Rescue uses a proprietary secure network file transfer method; rescued, recovered data and files can be safely transferred intact to any appropriate location on an accessible connected network.
Selkie Rescue operates from its own boot CD, circumventing any possibility of corruption by virus, spyware, Trojans and other malware; because the Selkie Data Rescue boot CD is locked, there is no possibility it can be written to or corrupted by any malware.
