SYCODE launches fourteen data exchange plug-ins for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire

Panaji – 27th Jul, 2009 – SYCODE today launched fourteen file import and export plug-ins for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire.

"SYCODE recently joined the PTC Software Partner Program with the intention of fulfilling the data exchange needs of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire users", explains Deelip Menezes, Founder and CEO of SYCODE. "These fourteen file import and export plug-ins are the first step in that direction. It is interesting to note that Pro/ENGINEER already has support for some of the file formats that can be imported and exported by these plug-ins. But the SYCODE plug-ins enhance Pro/ENGINEER’s capabilities even further. For example, Pro/ENGINEER has the ability to read mesh formats like Stereolithography STL and Wavefront OBJ, but it imports the 3D objects as facetted data which cannot be edited inside Pro/ENGINEER. The STL and OBJ import plug-ins for Pro/ENGINEER imports the 3D objects as solid bodies, which can be edited using Pro/ENGINEER’s solid modeling tools.”

The fourteen data exchange plug-ins are comprised of eight import and six export plug-ins. The import plug-ins are:
1. 3DM Import for Pro/ENGINEER – Rhinoceros 3DM file import plug-in
2. 3DS Import for Pro/ENGINEER – 3D Studio 3DS file import plug-in
3. DWG Import for Pro/ENGINEER – AutoCAD DWG file import plug-in
4. DXF Import for Pro/ENGINEER – AutoCAD DXF file import plug-in
5. OBJ Import for Pro/ENGINEER – Wavefront OBJ file import plug-in
6. SKP Import for Pro/ENGINEER – SketchUp SKP file import plug-in
7. STL Import for Pro/ENGINEER – Stereolithography STL file import plug-in
8. VTK Import for Pro/ENGINEER – Visualization Toolkit VTK file import plug-in

The file export plug-ins are:
1. 3DM Export for Pro/ENGINEER – Rhinoceros 3DM file export plug-in
2. 3DS Export for Pro/ENGINEER – 3D Studio 3DS file export plug-in
3. DWG Export for Pro/ENGINEER – AutoCAD DWG file export plug-in
4. DXF Export for Pro/ENGINEER – AutoCAD DXF file export plug-in
5. SKP Export for Pro/ENGINEER – SketchUp SKP file export plug-in
6. VTK Export for Pro/ENGINEER – Visualization Toolkit VTK file export plug-in

These plug-ins are designed to work with Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 Preproduction. All the products are priced at $195 each and are available as fully functional 10 day/run trials. Each product comes with an installer and detailed documentation in the form of a compiled HTML help file which contains a step-by-step tutorial to get the end user started in the shortest possible time.
