Ryder Signs Multi-Year Deal With PartsRiver

Ryder System Inc. signs PartsRiver for multi-year deal for continuing parts data quality and analytic services to the transportation company.

Menlo Park, CA May 27, 2004 –- PartsRiver, Inc., the leading provider of data quality and analytics services for the transportation equipment industry, today announced it has been awarded a renewal contract for ongoing parts data quality services from Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a global leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions.

“Utilizing PartsRiver data services has enabled us to obtain standardized parts information that assists us in making better procurement decisions, improving our fleet utilization, and ultimately lowering maintenance costs,” said Dick Carson, Ryder’s Senior Vice President of Fleet Management Solutions.

Under the contract, PartsRiver provides pricing and parts data quality services to Ryder that eliminates pricing discrepancies and identifies areas where Ryder can leverage parts data to improve purchasing decisions. The services include delivering price updates along with superceded and/or obsolete part information. Additionally, PartsRiver provides Ryder with data visibility, which helps improve parts spending. “Working together, we look forward to further optimizing Ryder’s transportation parts purchasing processes and procedures, resulting in cost savings throughout their fleet operations,” said Elisa Jagerson, CEO of PartsRiver.
