Newhall, CA January 17 2004--Yi.magination Studios today announces the availability of a preview edition of Comixware version 2.0 for Press review and evaluation purpose. The preview copy is a final gamma build of version 2.0. The commercial release of Comixware 2.0 is scheduled for February 21, 2004.

Comixware, developed and published by Yi.magination Studios, is an interactive storytelling apparatus that marries contents and software in one integrated package that offers user unprecedented creativity and customizability over high quality multimedia contents. Version 2.0 is a major upgrade from the current released version 1.2.2. It comes with many important new features and functions that redefine storytelling and revolutionize the way entertainment application being used and/or could be used.

Below are the major new features and additions come with version 2.0:
Expanded File Compatibility – Comixware now accepts user media files in practically any popular video, bitmap and audio formats to be used in editing directly (without the need for conversion). This extensive compatible media pack includes: QuickTime, AVI, SWF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, PICT, PSD, TIFF, TGA, MP3, AIF, WAV and AU. Plus Comixware will draw thumbnails of these files on-the-fly and have them shown up in the asset library instantaneously ready for editing!

User File Sharing – Powerful asset linking engine and movie ID encryption system enable users to share their personal media in Comixware Gallery on the Internet, either ‘publicly’ or ‘privately’. For instance, you can password protect your movie to be shared with designated friends and family only. Or you can include an administrative ID in your movie to allow online collaboration with your peers.

Definable Scene Length Control – Now all scenes, regardless of their original length or nature, can be altered and redefine by user as for their screen duration and playback scheme (cycled or directional). This feature greatly expands the choice and possibility of media used in a movie. For instance you can expand a single frame photo to be a scene of infinite length.

Cut/Copy/Paste/Insert – Now the Compose section includes advance editing functions of cut, copy, paste, and insert editing both at the timeline and at the scene composition level. Copy and paste can also be performed across different scenes and movies

Multiple Selection – User can now select a group of scenes or objects (whether in consecutive or nonconsecutive order) to perform advance editing functions.

OS X Compatible – In addition to the Classic environment (OS 8.x to 9.x), the Mac version of Comixware is now fully OS X native.

Improved GUI – All the editing features and functions are carried out by a streamlined and seamless user interface. Almost any task in Comixware, regardless of its complexity, can be done by a simple drag-and-drop or mouse click, no input menu or property dialog to open or close.

Pricing and Compatibility
The price for Comixware 2.0 is to be $39.99 for the Download version and $44.99 for the CD version.

Comixware is compatible with all flavors of Windows operating systems (Windows 95, 98, NT4, 2000, ME and XP) as well as with Mac OS X and Classic (OS 8.x to 9.x) operating systems.
