Omicron USA Brings New Initiative to the Tri State Region

IT departments of diverse businesses and diverse industries to actively participate in programs to create greater business value.

LONG ISLAND, NY July 28, 2004 -- Omicron USA announced today, its introduction of new programs serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Now, Information Technology departments representing a diverse mix of businesses within the tristate area can actively participate locally in Omicron USA programs, to create greater IT value across the entire business landscape without barriers. These already proven and highly effective programs are currently offered by Omicron USA for member companies such as Coke, Pepsi, Allstate, Home Depot and Ace Hardware to name a few, as active clients.

From its New Jersey inception in 1982, Omicron USA has grown to include operations in Chicago, Atlanta and the New York tristate region, with 300 companies as active participants over its 20+-year history. The new executive management team for Omicron USA – Tri State has developed a full curriculum of programs, with its newest Omicron Interchange™ held on July 20, 2004, “Aligning and Marketing IT for Business Value.” This Omicron Interchange was attended by significant Long Island companies and is now one of a series of monthly half-day intensive workgroups, professionally facilitated by Omicron USA. Each Omicron Interchange focuses on the critical and relevant issues for leaders in today’s business and IT environments. The Omicron Interchange is unique to Omicron USA, designed specifically for IT leaders and their business partners to achieve their highest level of problem resolution and best practice validation, in a comfortable yet structured peer-to-peer environment. The Omicron Interchanges scheduled for August, September and October will focus on the topics of Outsourcing, Security and the Sarbanes-Oxley Bill.

IT executives and professionals of companies in the tristate area now have a rather unique resource for additional know-how and innovation from outside of their own organization. Says Ferraro, “We start with a predefined topic and facilitate the interactive exchange of expertise and queries, so participants can take immediate action within their own organizations. Omicron USA clients have secured on-line access to Interchange notes from all previous Omicron Interchanges even if they were unable to attend. We also solicit and facilitate quick help from other member companies when a client has a need to resolve ad hoc issues, gather information, or identify risks.”

Adding to the unique shared learning experience of the Omicron Interchange are formal training programs that will begin in August. The first of the full curriculum of Omicron Special Programs™ is a two-day intensive workshop, “Project Planning and Control – The Foundations of Project Management,” scheduled for August 18-19, 2004. On September 22-23, 2004, “Determining the Business Requirements Workshop” is available, and “Communicate or Die – Getting Results Through Speaking and Listening” is scheduled for October 27-28, 2004. Additional Special Programs will be run throughout the year.

All Long Island based Omicron USA – Tri State Interchanges and Special Programs will take place at Carlyle on the Green, Bethpage, New York. Additional venues are being identified to conveniently accommodate clients located in New York City, Westchester, New Jersey and Connecticut.
