New program supports backup and restore of audio tag data.

New program supports backup and restore of audio tag data.

Serious audiophiles invest considerable time and effort in their tags. The information they contain often comes from diverse, hard-to-find sources and can be more more difficult or cumbersome to replace than the audio itself. Tag Backup & Restore protects a user's investment by backing up tags to any one of three possible archive types. Once archived, the user has full control over what to restore. The program will recreate single tag field, a single tag, or a whole library of tags.

Backups can be made to an MS Access 2000 database file (.mdb), an MS Excel worksheet (.xls), or a delimited text file (.csr - a modified csv format). Backups with the mdb option archive full copies of both text and binary fields, including multiple instances of those fields that support multiples, like comments, pictures, synchronized lyrics, and the like. Backups include all sub-field data as well, like comment descriptions and language information. Worksheet backups
make it possible to edit tags in Excel and then import the changes directly into tags.

Tag Backup & Restore is built around a competent real-time tag editor and batch file renamer, too. Supports AAC, APE, FLAC, M4A, MP3, MP4, MPC, OGG, VQF, and WMA tags.
