New Web Site To Provide Knowledge Portal for Grid Computing Community
CARLSBAD, CA May 7, 2004--North Summit Media announced the launch of Grid Summit, a web portal for the grid computing community. The web site (www.GridSummit.com) will make its debut on the World Wide Web on May 7, 2004. It is the third Summit portal for the computing community that includes advanced users, system architects, software developers, consultants, engineers, researchers and CxO-level management.
The Summit web sites contain articles, white papers, interviews, lists of software providers, conference presentations, and streaming media programs. The SQLSummit.com site is a portal for the database and information retrieval community. WebServicesSummit.com is a web portal for the tech community interested in distributed computing and collaborative Internet applications.
The Summit sites include multi-lingual content to attract an international audience. Besides English, there are also articles in Chinese, German and Cyrillic for a Ukrainian and Russian audience. The streaming media content includes audio and video programs that feature industry thought leaders in presentations, interviews, and roundtable discussions.
"IBM, Oracle, and the Global Grid Forum have generated a lot of enthusiasm for grid computing. We hope GridSummit.com will be an valuable resource for members of the technology community who want to exploit this powerful new model for distributed computing. Grids will enable us to go farther and faster in sharing computing capacity and in solving problems that have challenged supercomputers" said Ken North, publisher of GridSummit.com.
Video programs to be released this week at GridSummit include an interview about grid and web services security with Ashraf Memon, a researcher at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. Another new video release is a roundtable discussion about grid data access with Jim Melton, editor of the SQL standard and Geoff Brown, Director of Grid Computing at Oracle.
