New Remote Code Review Tool From Smart Bear Software

Code Reviewer streamlines peer review. A developer requests a review of source code changes that are not yet checked into the version-control system. Proposed changes are sent to reviewers who can comment on individual lines of code and view previous versions of a file using a unique historical timeline interface. Software organizations can create checklists that reviewers use while examining proposed changes. Checklists reinforce company policies for style, comments, security, and proper handling of common errors. Reviews are returned to the original developer who can make additional changes and either request another review or check changes into version control with a single click.

Code Reviewer hosts all communication between developer and reviewer, creating an audit trail (including who, what, when, and where) stored in the version-control system alongside the changes themselves. Code Reviewer supports SourceSafe, Perforce, and CVS version-control systems.
