New On-Line Service Launched to Help Businesses Increase Web-Site Visits
PAC Technologies a software house based in Manchester England have introduced the first on-line service Wordtags.com where businesses can design and order there own Smart Tags for use in Microsoft Office documents.
Smart Tags were introduced by Microsoft within there Office XP release, Smart Tags sometimes described as Buttons with a Brain can save you time when performing actions in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook that you'd normally open other programs to do.
When a Smart Tag recognises a word within the document a purple dotted line appears beneath the text and an unobtrusive button appears indicating that a Smart Tag is available. The user simply clicks the Smart Tag actions button to see a menu of actions they can take.
The Wordtags service offered by PAC will allow a business to order a Smart Tag that can then be distributed freely by them to there customers or clients, the tag created for them will recognise key words or phrases chosen by them, there own smart tag will then appear whenever one of these key words is typed, the smart tag action button will allow them to go directly to a page on there web site.
Thus, saving valuable time, not having to leave the document there working in and a reduction in performing redundant tasks such as opening a browser and navigating to there website.
Some large international companies have recognised the power of Smart Tags and have introduced them as part of there overall web marketing strategy for example: FedEx the worldwide freight company have successfully introduced a FedEx Smart Tag that is available free and gives instant access to there web services from within an office document.
