More Consumers Rolling Up Sleeves and Paying Off Debts, Says Finance Expert Gene Jolley
Forget bankruptcy, debt consolidation and all those spam messages promising consumers they dont actually have to pay back their creditors. It seems Americans are beginning to embrace the time-tested concept of simply paying off their own debts one at a time.
GROTON, VT January 21, 2004 - Forget bankruptcy, debt consolidation and all those spam messages promising consumers they dont actually have to pay back their creditors. It seems Americans are beginning to embrace the time-tested concept of simply paying off their own debts one at a time.
Its a trend Gene Jolley, founder of Kingdom Financial Principles LLC (KFP, http://www.solongbills.com) and creator of Rapid Debt Reducer software (www.rapiddebtreducer.com), is starting to notice in his work. And he couldnt be happier, though he acknowledges theres more work to be done in teaching people how to achieve debt freedom.
Ive been fortunate to have attracted media attention recently for my views on consumer debt, he said. As a result, Im already seeing more families choosing to buckle down and learn how to eliminate their debt without gimmicks. Now we just need to get the message out on a large scale. Imagine the effect it will have on our economy when more people are living completely debt-free, including mortgages, after just five to ten years.
Paying off mortgages in under ten years? Without a six-figure income? It doesnt sound so far-fetched when you look at Jolleys methods. His software, books, tapes and live seminars all center around the principle of debt stacking, or paying off one debt and then applying its monthly payment amount to the next debt until all debts are gone. And in Jolleys home state of Vermont, couples and individuals are lining up to learn about it.
I teach a series of seminars through Vermont Technical College Adult Education Outreach on budgeting and creating a debt elimination plan, and enrollment just keeps going up, Jolley explained. The response has been fantastic. Now wed like to teach the same principles to people nationwide.
If Jolley sounds like a debt elimination evangelist, its because he is. Jolley, his wife Miriam and their five children have lived through tough financial times, including losing their home after an unexpected layoff. Less than ten years later, after using debt stacking methods, they owned a home outright and were living debt-free. Jolley knew others could benefit from what hed learned, and KFP was born.
My goal is to help people live happier, more enjoyable lifestyles, Jolley finished. For me, helping families overcome debt is a labor of love. Theres nothing better than hearing from someone whos turned their future around by using what weve taught them.
