Midway and NubyTech Announce Mortal Kombat "M" Rated Controllers for Sony PlayStation®2: Computer Entertainment System and Microsoft XboxTM

Midway and NubyTech® announced today the launch of a series of special limited edition controllers for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Microsoft Xbox, which are uniquely designed for the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat: Deceptions video game from Midway.

LOS ANGELES, CA October 13, 2004 -- Midway and NubyTech® announced today the launch of a series of special limited edition controllers for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Microsoft Xbox, which are uniquely designed for the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat: Deceptions video game from Midway.

NubyTech will be utilizing artwork revolving around Mortal Kombat’s infamous “fatalities” which have shocked gamers over the years. Due to the graphic nature of the images utilized, NubyTech has obtained an “M” - Mature, rating from the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB). The graphic images will be concealed until the consumer opens the product at home to avoid exposing certain content to younger games where it may not be appropriate.

“As the exclusive official licensee for Mortal Kombat, we plan to produce some extremely unique and hardcore products for the Mortal Kombat fans ” stated Birute Tursa, NubyTech’s director of marketing. “These will be the first “M” rated video game controller ever in history, and in doing so we want to ensure the public that we taking efforts to be a socially responsible company.”
