Marval and Sussex HIS win HDI Best Business Use of Support Technology Award 2007
This unique award is presented to the vendor or consulting group and their customer who are able to demonstrate the most effective business improvement achieved, using their companys products and services within a customers installation. Emphasis is placed on how service delivery has positively impacted on line-of-business operations within the organisation.
Although pitted against some strong competition, the stand out entry selected by the awards committee this year was The Sussex HIS Super Service Desk project.
The Sussex HIS project has brought together totally disparate IT support operations, local service desks and locations (each having their own separate culture, approach, support tools and processes) under a single, integrated service management framework. Based on industry best practice and standards and using a single ITSM tool Marval Service Management (MSM) software, the organisation has been able to provide underpinning, cost effective and efficient IT services to support patient care within the Sussex NHS.
The achievement of so much consolidation in such a short time, into a single tool, is truly testament to both MSMs capabilities and the determination of Sussex HIS staff to make this fly Greg Pritchett, Technical Director , Marval.
The project has delivered genuine and rapid improvement in the customer experience, increased IT infrastructure and service reliability.
To be recognised by our industry peers is a fantastic achievement for Sussex HIS and Marval. We all knew at the start, that this programme of service improvement would not be easy. However this award gives us renewed energy towards ISO/IEC 20000 accreditation. My personal thanks to all the individuals involved. Steve Orman, Head of IT Services, Sussex HIS.
