Luxena dbExpress eXtension 2.2: Major Painkiller for dbExpress Developers
Luxena dbExpress eXtension 2.2: Major Painkiller for dbExpress Developers
Migrate from BDE/ADO to dbExpress without Headaches
eXtension provides you with an easy way to migrate from a BDE/ADO application to dbExpress. Typically this process consumes hours of developers time as it involves rewriting plenty of code and adding bugs. However with eXtension you only need to replace old components with eXtension without having to redesign the entire project. Also new to eXtension is the ability to link db-aware controls, such as grid, directly to the datasets. This way you no longer need to use TClientDataSet and TDataSetProvider to display and modify data.
As distinct from standard dbExpress components, eXtension introduces another important change TDBXUpdateSQL which is functionally similar to TUpdateSQL. Thanks to this component, you can easily move data modification logic to a dbExpress application without having to write code required when you use the standard dbExpress components. You can link TDBXUpdateSQL to any eXtension dataset and get the ability to edit multi-table joins, stored procedures and union results. Using eXtension, you can control automatic updates as well.
Improve Your Software
eXtension has the special TDBXConnection component that enables developers to introduce connection pooling to a dbExpress application. The use of the component leads to enhanced application performance and scalability. You can easily configure and control the connection pooling behavior in the PoolOptions property of TDBXConnection. As compared to custom connection pooler development, using the eXtension component doesnt require you to be familiar with threads, shared data synchronization and synchronization objects. Besides you dont have to redesign your application and spend hours on endless tests and fixing changes.
