Lingobit Extractor offers hardcoded strings extraction to resources

October 1, 2009: Lingobit Technologies has released a first version of its new tool for software localization, Lingobit Extractor. The tool solves a huge part of internationalization task by extracting hardcoded strings from source code to resources. The beta introduces processing only for C++ files, but support for more languages is promised to be released soon.

Lingobit Extractor extracts hardcoded strings from C++ sources. It replaces hardcoded strings with a code template that loads them from resources and creates RC file with extracted text.
For example, code
printf(L"Hello, world!" );
will be automatically replaced with
printf( _LS( IDS_HELLO ) );
where _LS is a function that loads string from resources, IDS_HELLO is an automatically generated ID for string that were placed into resource script file. There are a lot of configuration options so you can control every stage of extraction process. Furthermore, you can preview all changes in source code and edit extracted strings in resource table.

The tool is very useful tool for software developers, translation and localization agencies and other companies that face internationalization challenge. It automates hardcoded string extraction process and makes it very easy to prepare source code for software localization.
