Kentico CMS 5.0 Scales Up Enterprise Support
With the latest release 5.0, Kentico CMS for ASP.NET targets enterprise-class Web sites. It can handle a database of 100,000 pages and 1,000,000 site members. It also comes with support for SQL Server Replication which, together with existing support for Web farms, allows for high availability and unlimited scalability of the solution.
“Kentico CMS 5.0 represents a major milestone for our company. We’ve been growing our solution based on the client feedback for several years and we confidently state that Kentico CMS is ready for large, enterprise-level Web sites,“ says Petr Palas, Kentico CEO and founder. “We believe that the new version will allow us to increase the number of enterprise clients already using Kentico CMS, including Microsoft, McDonald’s, Bayer, ESPN and others, who appreciate the ease of use, fast deployment and robustness of the solution,” he adds.
Kentico CMS 5.0 also comes with many improvements in the user interface, including personalization of dialogs based on user roles or support for bulk operations with large number of pages. The new Widgets technology gives more power to content editors allowing them to insert dynamic functionality into the page or build completely new page layouts without developer’s help.
"We really appreciate the new Widgets feature, which puts the perfect amount of customizable control in the hands of a Page Editor," says Chris Marts, Lead Programmer at Aloysius Butler & Clark. "The UI personalization is a big win as well. Less is more when it comes to the UI and being able to enable/disable items from the system tells a more complete customization story."
