Intercon openly demonstrates its Advanced Database technology

Intercon introduces DynaSQL, dramatically improving access to information

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL February 7, 2004 –- Intercon released DynaSQL, a Non-Hierarchical data indexing technology, for free public review.

Non-Hierarchical access to information is fundamentally different from currently applied data-access methods. For example: Hierarchical data-access requires entry of search-key sequentially; just a singe character that is missing, transposed or misspelled, results in the loss of sought record. Non-Hierarchical data-access reduces data-entry restrictions; for example: it is effective in Call-Center environment where data is transcribed directly from voice into a system, or when matching between imprecise gene sequences.

Amazing, yet simple example for Non-hierarchical data-access is a search by a ZIP code, retrieving instantly records that are evaluated and sorted by spatial proximity.

DynaSQL technology improves Systems’ user interfaces,” predicts Shatz, Intercon’s CTO, “users exposed to simpler and more intuitive interfaces will refuse to turn back.”

Intercon Systems, a closely held Israeli company, provides US’ Pharmaceuticals companies with Business Intelligence services. Among Intercon’s clients were McKesson, Bristol Mayer Squeeb, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Aventis, Rite Aid and others. “Processing the world’s large databases confronted Intercon with the limits of ‘mainstream’ database technology,” explains Shatz. “Intercon had to develop its own robust technologies to meet the challenge.”

Speaking from Intercon’s Technology Center - overlooking historical Jerusalem, Shatz continues: “Recently, Intercon decided to apply its proprietary technologies to empower standard, ‘everyday’ application. Data Cleansing, Data Refining, record Matching, De-duplication, Information Retrieval, Data Mining and Graphical Statistical Analysis – are methodologies now available to Windows Desktop users, within single integrated system – DataSet V.”

To introduce and promote some of its technologies publicly, Intercon placed DataSet V Beta, free, for public preview and experimentation, downloadable from Intercon’s web site at www.ds-dataset.com

“Since January 2004, more than ten thousand DataSet V copies were downloaded,” accounts Shatz, “mainly by researchers and students in Academic institutions. The general public and Corporate IT are expected to follow.”
