Important New Interface Between Client File Database and Term Life Insurance Comparisons

GBS and Compulife announce an important new software interface between client database and term life insurance comparisons. Users can now enter client data, transfer and perform term comparisons and have copies of quotations automatically attached to their client files.

December 18, 2003 -- GBS, Inc. and Compulife Software, Inc. are today announcing that they have entered into an agreement to provide their common customers with an important new software interface. The new feature greatly enhances the value of the two companies' respective software products for their common customers.

GBS, Inc., maker of Agency Expert for Windows, has provided thousands of agents and agencies with Client/Agency and Contact Management software since 1979. The Agency Expert gives GBS customers a way to organize their client and contact records improving the agent's productivity and profitability.

Compulife Software, Inc, maker of the Compulife Quotation System, has provided thousands of customers with the most comprehensive term comparison software since 1987. Quoting approximately 140 U.S. life insurance companies, Compulife's term comparison program puts the term comparison market at the agent's fingertips and provides its customers with a large number of term quoting options.

The new interface created by GBS and Compulife permits the GBS Agency Expert user to transfer their Client/Prospect data directly into the Compulife program. As the Compulife user compares and produces term quotations for their Client/Prospect, a PDF file copy of each quotation is placed and linked into the Client/Prospect's record in the Agency Expert. The agent can use the Agency Expert to later retrieve the quotes from the Client/Prospect record.

Compulife president Bob Barney said, "We are genuinely excited that Compulife customers now have access to an integrated software database that will allow them to keep track of their clients and prospects and the quotations that they have provided to them. I particularly like the seamless interface which automatically attaches copies of the quotes to the Agency Expert client record regardless of whether that quote was printed or whether the agent sent the quote to their client by e-mail."

GBS executive vice-president Jeff Seale added, "For several years GBS has offered its own term comparison system which allowed our customers to have an interface between our Agency Expert product and the term comparison software. We are pleased that we now have that interface between our Agency Expert and Compulife given Compulife's comprehensive term database which offers more companies and products than any other in the market. With the term quotes now handled by Compulife, GBS can turn its attention to supporting and servicing its Health and Long Term Care Quotes and Comparisons."

GBS has made arrangements so that its existing Term Expert customers will receive the Compulife program at no charge for the balance of their current subscription for the Term Expert program. Jeff Seale explained, "We want GBS customers to appreciate that we value their business and that we are doing everything we can to honor the commitments that we have made. We think the Compulife program, together with the interface that we have introduced, will be a great improvement to our previous software capability."

Both companies believe that this new strategic alliance will boost sales as their respective customers move to take advantage of the other's software products. The companies also believe that the new interface will make their respective programs much more appealing to agents who currently do not use either company's software products.
