HelpDesk OSP for Outlook and SharePoint now also works with Office Live
kalmstrom.com Business Solutions has released an update of the popular helpdesk solution that combines Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint. It now works also with Office Live, so the investment in a SharePoint site can be avoided.
Norrköping, Sweden, 22 May 2009. With HelpDesk OSP e-mails are converted into SharePoint list items, and in the new version also Office Live lists can be used. Microsoft Office Live is technically another brand of SharePoint, and this alternative is suitable for smaller businesses, who want to use HelpDesk OSP but don't want to invest time and money in SharePoint.
The new version, 1.4, of HelpDesk OSP is very easy to configure, since the first user can do it for all. Evaluators will appreciate the new Example data application, that gives an opportunity to see how HelpDesk OSP works when you have much data in it, what performance you can expect and so on. You can edit the Example Data according to your needs, and from the Example Data you can create tickets in the selected SharePoint or Office Live list.
HelpDesk OSP has three parts: an Outlook add-on that is installed on every helpdesk worker’s client machine, a powerful report generator and any SharePoint or Office Live template you wish to use. E-mails are converted into tickets in Outlook, manually or automatically, and they are then stored and organized at the SharePoint/Office Live site. A Settings form in Outlook handles the connection between Outlook and SharePoint/Office Live. The integrated statistics tool facilitates business intelligence.
