Guide to Mount ISO file for free

An iso file contains the image of a disk. That means it contains all the files and folders that were on that disk, much like a zip or cab file contains a collection of files and folders. The real difference is that an iso is a byte-for-byte copy of the low-level data actually stored on a disk. ISO images can be loaded into PowerISO to create CDs or DVDs. Using a CD or DVD burning program like PowerISO you can then write that iso disk image to an actual disk.

PowerISO is a CD/DVD image utility that can extract, edit, create and burn ISO files. Usually, you have to burn an ISO file on a CD to extract its contents, but now you can simply open an ISO file in PowerISO. PowerISO supports almost all CD/DVD-ROM image file formats(ISO, BIN, NRG, CDI, DAA and so on).

A virtual drive is a device that to the operating system appears to be an ordinary physical disk drive, with disc images substituted for disc reading hardware through the use of software called a disk emulator. You can mount an ISO file as a virtual drive, so that you can access the files in the ISO image without actually writing it back to a CD or DVD disc.

PowerISO has a built-in virtual drive, which can mount iso files and other CD DVD image files. There is no need to install any other virtual drive software to mount an ISO file. It is very convenient to mount an ISO file. You can mount it using the main program, using the shell context menu, or using the PoweriSO virtual drive manager.
