Gladiators Software releases AltDesk 1.6
We have just released the final version of AltDesk 1.6, which has become a significant update to AltDesk 1.5.5, released few years ago.
AltDesk is an award-winning Virtual Desktop manager, which helps you organizing tasks in a more efficient way. When using it you can work with tens of opened windows at once and still have a clear Desktop with only few opened windows visible. While working with AltDesk's Virtual Desktops you can swtich groups of tasks, not only tasks themselves. Besides, swapping tasks between Desktops can be done by using intuitive Drag and Drop interface.

What's new in AltDesk 1.6 (compared to 1.5.5)
+New skin format, supporting per-pixel alpha blending, form transformation and othe interesting features (Windows 2000/XP and above).
+New default skins.
+Installing new skins is now as easy as double-clicking theim.
+Redesigned configuration interface should now be even easier to use.
+Very fast wallpaper switching algorithm.
+Hight quality resampling algorithm for stretching wallpapers (a way better than "native" one).
+Wallpapers can be set from both shell (Explorer or Aston) and AltDesk's configuration menu.
+Task previews: small thumbnails, displaying certain window's content (Windows XP and above)
+New localization system currently supports English, Russian, Chinese (Traditional), Suomi, Deutch, Magyar, Nederlands, Serbian and Ukrainian. Other languages should be supported soon.
+Easy language file version tracking.
+Comprehensive help system includes skinning tutorials and translation guide.
+Window's "Always on top" and transparency properties can be adjusted by right-clicking its icon in AltDesk.
+"Fade" effects (Windows 2000/XP and above).

*Tray icon now cannot be disabled (troubleshooting).
*"Cycle thye list of desktops" behavior is now default.

System Requirements:
* Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista (Windows 2000/XP or above is recommended)
* Intel Pentium/AMD K5 or better processor
* At least 32 Mb RAM (128 for Windows XP)
* Few megabytes of hard disk space for program and skins
* Any videocard, supporting true color mode
* Keyboard
* Mouse (recommended)
In general, AltDesk runs well on any computer capable of running Windows 98 and above operating system.
Note: registered users of AltDesk can upgrade to this version free of charge.
