Geek Chic Selects Windsor McLaren Public Relations as Agency of Record
LOS ANGELES, CA December 1, 2003 Geek Chic Company, which was founded by Dean Haglund, who played hacker Richard 'Ringo' Langly on The X-Files, announced today that the company has retained Windsor McLaren Public Relations as its agency of record. The company, a provider of affordable computer peripherals like the Chill-Pak, (www.chillpak.com) a notebook cooling system, selected Windsor McLarens technology group for their expertise in technology product public relations and Internet marketing campaigns.
Geek Chic has built a line of affordable products that get the job done and weve engaged Windsor McLaren to let people know about them and how they can answer common computing problems, said Founder Dean Haglund. Wed like to reach the North American market first and then reach Japan, which has already shown a good deal of interest in our products.
Dawson Rorick of Windsor McLaren stated, Geek Chic is filling this niche at a perfect time. Notebooks are slimming down and sacrificing their cooling systems. As a result, they get hot to the touch and lose performance. For twenty dollars, the Chill-Pak can solve both problems of performance and comfort and were excited to get that message out. After talking with Dean, we realized that he has a line of similarly innovative solutions for common problems and we were happy to get on board.
The agency of record deal consists of a combination of a retainer-based fee and incentive-based profit sharing.
