An advanced application was launched this Monday which allows any modem communications applications to interact via LAN or the Internet based on full hardware emulation technology.

United Kingdom – Liverpool – FabulaTech, one of the major software development companies which provides solutions in USB и Serial device virtualization area serving the needs and demands of its customers worldwide announced release of Ethernet Modem 2.0 Aimed at simplifying every-day tasks, the program fully emulates hardware modems.

Ethernet Modem 2.0 allows any modem communications applications to interact via LAN or the Internet. Application "dials" remote IP address instead of making a dial-direct call using hardware modem. Moreover, it looks as if the application worked with hardware modem. But in fact, a hardware modem is not used. More program features can be studied at http://www.virtual-modem.com

“If you don’t want to pay for each call especially for international phone calls, if you want to get rid of busy phone line and hardware each time you want to establish modem connection and are really pissed off by low-speed phone connections, then Ethernet Modem is the perfect solution for you”, says Alan Rurke, one of the software developers.

General features of the program:
Virtual modems look and work like real hardware modems
Applications use virtual modems directly from virtual serial ports or through TAPI
Up to 256 virtual modems can be created
Virtual modems can "dial" to remote virtual modems using IP address (or computer name) and TCP-port instead of phone number
Virtual modems can accept "incoming calls" from other virtual modems
Phone book. It allows you to simplify switch to virtual modems from hardware modems. You can specify telephone number corresponding to IP address (or computer name) and TCP-port of remote virtual modems.

According to analyst firm ShareResearch, a rapidly growing number of GPS devices users, software developers and IT integrators who initially sought to improve processes are now seeking more powerful products. Availability so far has been limited to rather costly low-featured tools. Ethernet Modem extends the existing product family.

Ethernet Modem is successfully used in such spheres as financial systems, credit card transaction, legal information database access, real estate information systems, device control and data acquisition, building automation, security systems.
