June 30, 2010 – Emurasoft, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of EmEditor Professional Version 10, the latest major upgrade for the EmEditor text editing software for Windows. EmEditor Professional is a fast, lightweight text editor designed to balance speed of operation with robust features.

One of the most unique features of EmEditor is the ability to open very large files, including the Large File Controller which allows EmEditor to open and handle files larger than 248GB (or more than 2.1 billion lines). EmEditor is one of the only text editors that can competently handle files of such large volume.

EmEditor supports Unicode (UTF-16, UTF-8, and UTF-7) as well as numerous international encodings, allowing users to optimize their work for multiple international settings.

In addition to built-in features, EmEditor also offers users the opportunity to create and download plug-ins that work with the EmEditor interface to add further functionality to the program. Several important plug-ins come pre-installed with the text editor.

New features in version 10 include a Compare documents function (including Synchronized Scrolling), Spell Checking, improved Vertical Selection Editing, ASCII View side by side with Binary (Hexadecimal View), and a Numbering feature.

EmEditor is fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, Server 2008, and Server 2003.
