A collaborative effort between Delphi Harrison’s Delphi Thermal Solutions Group and Chatsworth Products, Inc., the CPI Delphi ECS Enclosure Blower is specifically designed to lower heat by up to 15 F with from 40% - to more than double - the cooling efficiency of traditional solutions, allowing data center equipment to perform at optimal levels.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., March 3, 2003, Chatsworth Products, Inc.(CPI), a 100% employee-owned leading manufacturer of cabinet, rack and cable management systems for computer and communications networks, today announced the first product in its new line of CPI Cold Storage Solutions, the CPI Delphi ECS Enclosure Blower. A collaborative effort between Delphi Harrison’s Delphi Thermal Solutions Group and Chatsworth Products, Inc., the CPI Delphi ECS Enclosure Blower is specifically designed to lower heat by up to 15 F with from 40% - to more than double - the cooling efficiency of traditional solutions, allowing data center equipment to perform at optimal levels.

“As microprocessor speeds and performance continue to increase, thermal management to optimize network equipment performance becomes a greater challenge for data center managers,” said Ian Seaton, marketing manager at CPI’s Georgetown, Texas, Operations. “Our new blower optimizes cold air delivery to increase equipment performance and reduce network downtime due to overheating.”

The CPI ECS Enclosure Blower’s unique design minimizes power consumption while optimizing cabinet airflow. On a raised floor, the blower provides optimum cooling by delivering the coldest plenum air directly to the server fronts where cooling air in-takes are located, resulting in decreased potential downtime and increased server life. On a solid floor, the blower will assist equipment cooling by routing the cooler air from the floor up to the equipment air intakes.

Designed for 50,000 hours of service life, CPI’s new blower features a backward-inclined fan in a durable, lightweight (only 20 pounds) polymer housing that provides maximum efficiency with minimal noise. The unit is rack-mountable in any standard 19” EIA-310 compliant cabinet, and requires only 2 RMU or less of space, leaving ample room for critical network equipment.
