LEESPORT, PA -- Sept 16, 2003 Duvessa Software today announced Estimate Easy UC, a powerful, low cost and flexible tool that estimates the software development effort using use case points.
Estimate Easy UC is designed to capture use case data, which is known very early in the requirements phase, before the detailed requirements are discovered. Estimate Easy UC is the first tool to offer the customization of all use case point estimation factors which is then converted to man-power estimates. Recent studies have indicated that use case points produce reliable estimates, which are close to the actual development effort.
Estimate Easy UC allows manual input of actors, use cases, technical and environmental factors to be used for estimation calculation. It also allows users to import UML data, from other sources such as Rational Rose, XMI 1.1 and Microsoft Visio. Use case data can also be imported from Rational RequisitePro. Estimate Easy UC allows the modification of all data and the generation of multiple estimates. Estimating early, teams can identify and mitigate risks early and increase their chances to deliver software on time and within budget. "Estimate Easy UC is easy to use, approachable and flexible. It is difficult to estimate the software development effort, especially if developing use cases. This typically happens late in the project when it may be too late to change the budget, schedule or other resources.
Estimate Easy UC allows for the creation of what-if scenarios. It enables anyone to create multiple scenarios, which depict alternate configurations of actors, use cases and factors and how they impact the estimation of effort.
