DUPONT SELECTS THE PASSWORD AUTO REPOSITORY (PAR) FROM e-DMZ SECURITY FOR ADMINISTRATIVE PASSWORD CONTROL
Leading Worldwide Science Company Deploys Automated Root/Admin Password Management Solution
WILMINGTON, Dele July 24, 2004 -- -DMZ Securitys Products Division today announced that DuPont (NYSE: DD) has selected the Password Auto Repository (PAR) for administrative password management and control. The PAR is the only operations tool available today that offers a comprehensive solution that includes the release, change, and verification of critical passwords like root and administrator.
The PAR provides a complete solution, including secure storage and changing of the managed system passwords, states Larry Brock, Chief Security Officer for DuPont. The automated approach allows us to leverage this solution across multiple environments, giving us a standardized approach for this critical function. With capabilities like High Availability, token support, and underlying AES256 encryption, we feel this is an enterprise class solution that provides the availability we require.
The Password Auto Repository provides individual accountability, dual control, and a strong audit trail for the changing and release of shared administrative IDs such as 'root' on UNIX and 'Administrator' on Windows. It offers a secure release mechanism for passwords, and automatically changes the password on the managed system based on the parameters controlled by the customer. The PAR is a vendor-supported product 24x7x365.
