August, 2003 -- COMMELL, the Industrial Computer Division of Taiwan Commate Computer Inc., announces the Full-size PICMG platform FS-978 based on Intel 82865G and 82801EB Chipset, which offers high-bandwidth interfaces such as dual-channel DDR400 main memory, the latest Intel Pentium 4 processor of up to 3.2GHz+ clock speed on 800MHz FSB with hyper-threading technology, integrated graphics controller with Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Technology, AGP8X Graphics, Intel Communication Streaming Architecture featuring a Dedicated Network Bus(DNB) interface for wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity to ensure the performance in data transfer.
To Meet the requirement of different display interface, FS-978 provides the MiniAGP Interface to use add-on card to support LVDS/TMDS/TV/HDTV devices. COMMELL also offers a choice of ATI M10 VGA card to support the MiniAGP port, It delivers premium 3D performance with vivid and cinematic quality graphics.
Additionally, FS-978 is equipped with dual SATA ports that provides a transfer data rate of 150MB/s and easy hard drive upgrades. FS-978 also uses the LSI Logic Fusion-MPT based Ultra320 SCSI controller, and the dual-channel LSI53C1030, and is designed to double the data-transfer speed of current Ultra160 SCSI technology for optimal performance on both Windows and Linux servers and workstations.

CPU: Socket 478 Pentium 4 / Celeron CPU @ 400/533/800 MHz FSB.
Memory: 2 x 184 pin DDR DIMMs TO support up to 2.0GB DDR SDRAM. Supports bandwidth up to 3.2GB/s(DDR400) for Single Channel mode and 6.4GB/s(DDR400) in Dual Channel mode.
Chipset: Intel 865G and 82801EB.
Enhanced IDE: dual Channels support 4 ATAPI devices up to Ultra DMA 33/66//100 mode with data transfer rate up to 100MB/s.
Serial ATA: Supports two Serial ATA connectors, Data transfer rates up to 150MB/s.
VGA Interface: Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Technology, allowing software developers to create real-life environments and characters.
Mini AGP port: Provide the capable of driving an Daughter board to support LVDS/TMDS/TV/HDTV devices, Provide the capable of driving an Mini-AGP card to support AGP 8x/4x graphic card.
LAN Interface: On board Intel 82562ET to support 10/100 Mb LAN and On board Intel 82547EI to support Gigabit Ethernet.
Audio: Intel ICH5 built-in AC97 3D audio controller with ALC201A, Supports CD in, Line in, Mic. in and Speaker out.
USB: 4 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface with up to 480 Mbps of data transfer rate.
I/O Ports: 2 serial ports, 1 parallel port, IrDA, FDD, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports.
Solid State Disk: On board CompactFlash Type-II socket.
SCSI(option): On board LSI53C1030 to support Dual Channel Ultra-320 SCSI, The first channel is supported with one 68-pin wide SCSI connector. The Second channel is supported with one 68-pin & one 50-pin SCSI connectors.
