Blade Systems Alliance Names Linda Campbell as Marketing Director

Blade Systems Alliance, the information technology industry's organization for blade systems and modular computing, announced that Linda Campbell has assumed a new role for the organization as director of marketing.

Irving, TX June 7, 2004--Blade Systems Alliance, the information technology industry's organization for blade systems and modular computing, announced that Linda Campbell has assumed a new role for the organization as director of marketing. The new position fits perfectly with Linda's responsibilities as director of sales and marketing for Server Blade Summit 2005, the conference and exhibition dedicated to the rapidly growing blade server market.

In this expanded role, Campbell will head Blade Systems Alliance's marketing committee, with the objective of increasing end-user awareness and involvement and empowering the active participation of developers, suppliers, integrators and consultants in the rapidly emerging blade systems marketplace.

The blade systems market remains one of the bright spots in today's information technology business and has been signaled as one of the most significant emerging technologies for 2004 and beyond. Industry analyst IDC remains bullish about the blade market, reaffirming its forecast for server blades to generate $3.7 billion in revenue by 2006.

BladeS president Dennis Carlson and executive director Ed Doody led the initiative to significantly expand and grow the organization's industry presence, membership and end-user outreach by establishing the new position of marketing director and leveraging Campbell's complementary role as sales and marketing director for Server Blade Summit 2005 by hiring her to staff the newly created position for Systems Alliance. "In Linda's current capacity with Server Blade Summit, she is constant contact with potential members, media, analysts, and end users," said Ed Doody, executive director of Blade Systems Alliance. "As a result, Linda brings real benefit to the association in growing both our membership and our end user relationships."

In her new capacity, Campbell will work directly with BladeS members and interface with the BladeS marketing committee, public relations agency and other organizations. Campbell holds a B.S. in Business Administration from William Woods College, has more than 20 years experience in business management and development, and is very active in community affairs in the Dallas area.

Campbell is playing a key role in transitioning Server Blade Summit 2005 to the Santa Clara Marriott and Convention on March 22 to 24, 2005 (www.serverbladesummit.com). This move promises to substantially expand the conference and exhibition which this year featured more than 100 speakers from the leading suppliers of blade system solutions, including Adaptec, Cisco Systems, F5 Networks, Hitachi Data Systems, HP, IDC, Infinicon, Intel, Mellanox Technologies, Motorola, QLogic, RLX Technology, Sun Microsystems, Transmeta, Unisys, Veritas Software, VMware, and The Yankee Group.

Campbell has also been directly involved with hosting the BladeS Interoperability Demo & Raffle at Server Blade Summit 2004, Storage Networking World Spring 2004, and other prominent industry venues, providing an unparalleled opportunity to see the latest blade systems solutions in action from leading vendors including QLogic, F5 Networks, Apple, Avocent, nStor, SharkRack, Silicon Mechanics, XIOtech, and Unisys. The BladeS Interoperability Demo featurs a state-of-the-art clustered Intel-based blade server environment with stackable Fibre Channel switches connected to RAID storage systems and include a raffle for the demo equipment. About Blade Servers
Blade servers are a new generation of highly advanced, ultra-dense server environments. A server blade is essentially an entire server that fits on a single card, or blade, and contains the cpu, memory, and networking components necessary to run applications. In addition to delivering an ultra-dense server environment, server blades offer extremely low power consumption, breakthrough "economies of scale" and a new level of "economies of skill" through its plug-and-play design. Blades are becoming big business and one segment of the server market that is experiencing escalating growth.
