Comprehensive Ebook compiler for Windows

HyperMaker 3001.08 is an application for compiling HTML documents (in essence a Web site) into a compressed and encrypted executable Ebook that can run on any Windows version, from Windows 95 to Windows Vista.

Compression means to keep the size of the book small, which makes for faster download times.
Encryption means the content of the book is protected from unauthorized copying or modification.

What at first appears to be pretty complex interface becomes less so as the user work through creating his Ebook step-by-step. The first step is to put the Ebook files in HTML format. Once the HTML files are ready, it's just a matter of selecting the title or index page, deciding what other options to use, and then compiling the Ebook.

There are plenty of configuration options. Users can create a customized Table of Contents for navigation easily (similar to the TOC used in .CHM help files), control the appearance of the navigation toolbar for the viewer, add a logo, customize message prompts, create an "About" page, and much more. Images, sounds, and even video and Acrobat files can be included in the Ebooks.

Those interested in being paid for their work will definitely appreciate the program's extensive options for making that happen. Ebooks can be distributed as completely free publications; they can be locked until the reader pays the activation fee. Even better, it is easy to lock only specific pages, or have the entire Ebook expire after it runs "x" number of times. This creates an evaluation Ebook; the reader can see some of what they're getting, but not necessarily the whole enchilada.

HyperMaker also has a system to handle refunds. In a nutshell, if a customer decides to ask for a refund, they go to a special page in the Ebook. Once that happens, the Ebook is "unregistered" and can't be registered again on the same computer, at the same time; they receive a refund code, which should be sending by email to the Ebook author to prove that the Ebook was uninstalled, before they receive the refund. Sounds complex, but is the only way to cut fraudulent returns to near zero.

For those thinking of distributing Ebooks beyond the English-speaking world, HyperMaker lets selecting the language the book is in before compilation. That way, when the book is opened by the reader, the program’s viewer will automatically use an interface appropriate to the book’s language. The more important Western languages are supported and other languages can be added by the users at will.
