When one of the most successful film and entertainment companies in the world wanted to take advantage of the fact that 60 percent of corporate knowledge was found in their employees, they looked to Alphalogix. Alphalogix created a portal solution for the customer that enabled the organization to communicate and collaborate with its employees worldwide through a collection of knowledge management components available via an easy to use, secure portal with a single username and password sign-on.
The portal incorporates Alphalogix, IBM, Lotus, WebSphere and Tivoli technologies and includes a knowledge search engine and expertise locator, an ad-hoc team collaboration workspace, a worldwide online meeting (web conference) center, secure instant messaging, secure single sign-on and portal personalization. Because the portal has led to reduced time to market and eliminated redundant efforts, the customer reports a dramatic ROI of 40 times the rollout cost within the first year.
This solution represents one of the most complete integration of the IBM family of products for a single customer solution to date. Alphalogix enhanced this offering with their custom developed portal products for the entertainment and media industry.
The entire solution is outsourced to Alphalogix Network Services and is hosted at the Alphalogix Western U.S. Data Center, further lowering the total cost of ownership.
Their (Alphalogix) depth of knowledge, focus and on-staff resources has accelerated the development and the deployment of the solution.
