A mouseless screen capture utility addresses cropping accuracy and users with disabilities

At the recent WritersUA conference in Long Beach, California, IntuitiveTools introduced IT Screen Capture Pro 3.0, a professional screen capture utility that does not require a mouse. This utility may be the first screen capture program available where region-based screen captures can be defined entirely with a keyboard.
For technical writers this means improved accuracy without using a second program to tweak final captures for camera-ready publications and online help.
For people with disabilities and difficulty using a mouse the ability to create region-define screen captures is now possible.
With more than 100 screen capture programs available it is difficult to determine the best program for the job. Price is rarely the best decision method. Most screen capture programs are differentiated by their features. IT Screen Capture Pro focuses on productivity and accuracy.
According to James Palik, the owner of IntuitiveTools, IT Screen Capture Pro was created for people who need flexibility without impeding productivity. After carefully reviewing popular screen capture software to determine the productivity bottlenecks, IT Screen Capture Pro was created.
Common productivity problems include navigating menus to switch between tasks, the inability to modify capture regions after a preliminary preview, and easily creating profile sets for different types of jobs. To solve these problems, the IntuitiveTools Screen Capture Pro has no menus, and all capture modes are available through user-defined shortcut keys. Capture states were created to assist switching between a mouse and keyboard (combination state or keyboard-only state), and returning the computers focus to either the operating system or the active application (application-live state) without exiting the capture utility.
By focusing on capture flexibility and productivity, IT Screen Capture Pro addresses the needs of software professionals who need to do many screen captures as a daily routine.
“We are quite excited about IT Screen Capture Pro,” said James Palik. “Our feedback has been excellent.”
